I decided a baby blanket was entirely MUCH too insane for me to attempt right now. So, I instead knit this little baby sweater for my Cousins baby. I didn't really follow a pattern, but used a few different ones for suggestions. I ended up using a figure 8 cast on and then knitting the sides of the hood, doing a decrease row at the neck, and then continuing as I would for a basic top down raglan. It meets the measurements from yarnstandards.com for a newborn baby sweater. I used US7 needles with Caron Simply Soft yarn (one of my favorite yarns for babies; machine washable and really soft) in the color 'Raspberry'. My model is Floyd, my Daughter's stuffed puppy. Isn't he cute?
